Spyro 3 in general had more of traditional video game feel to it. In general universe of spyro 2 was believable cuz levels were inspired by other fairytales and myths, just like in spyro 1, universe had rules. Minigames that take place in the level so feel like side quests instead, colorful NPCs, not just same looking dragon with "thank you for releasing meh" An actually threatening villain. ![]() Spyro 2 improved all that but now more detailed levels, and has deeper atmosphere. And level transitions without cuts to black made the game feel less like a traditional game and more of a cartoon that you can control. The fact that Spyro 1 had ingame life bar, the dragonfly.
